We arrived in Athens about 1230 and were greeted by Nectarious...we were hoping for a nice roomy Mercedes sedan..and got a nice small Mercedes ..we all fit but it was a little tight in the back seat as the day went on it got harder and harder to get in and out of the back seat...
We saw all of the major sites..the Acropolis.parthenon , changing of the guard at the tomb of the unknown soldier, the old stadium, presidents house, We saw some some amazing views from the top of the mountain overlook all of Athens. It was hot hot hot...we did cut the day a little short since we were a getting a little tired ..and felt as though we had seen what no we need to...it was a great day and Peter and I definaely put our camera to work today and hopefully got some great shots!
We stopped and had lunch at a very local soot..our driver said the food is just like his mom makes...we were severe a sampling a dishes family style ..everything was really good! Moussaka, tsatiki, and about 4 other dishes...it was very delicious..even with drinks it was only 11€ per person...very reasonable...as American we overtopped as normally and the owner/ server was very appreciative of the tip...we did get excellent service and he took very good Care of us..
We are resting a bit now before we head out to explore Piraeus..where we are staying tonight...
